Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a dedicated team member for a large project engineering support role in the Manufacturing Technical Center. This remote position reports to the Process Engineering Director and collaborates across operations and engineering to improve asset performance, process safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Mechanical and electrical systems experience.
• Knowledge of design, construction, operation and maintenance of assets.
• Experience in process improvement and optimization.
• Experience in large projects and project activities.
• Willingness to travel at least 50%, with an average of 75%.

Responsibilities

• Focus on Balance of Plant (BOP) or OSBL utilities to support mill operations safely and reliably.
• Lead coordination between PP&R Project Engineering, Small Project Teams, mill site engineering and COE teams for capital projects.
• Ensure engineering quality standards, deliverables, and key design parameters are defined and fulfilled in all phases.
• Confirm integrity of project scope definition and execution to meet business goals.
• Promote Environmental, Health and Safety in all activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop transformative projects for GP.
• Develop business cases with SMEs and CSC to support investment strategy.
• Develop relationships with Operations, Engineering and Business teams.
• Develop supplier relationships for cost-effective system designs.
• Support the development and implementation of standards for assets and systems.
• Identify, develop, and review equipment specifications and design codes.
• Lead through influence with large cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrate project engineering experience with mill utilities and large capital projects.
• Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building across levels.
• Bring strong financial and analytical skills to identify key insights.
• Identify issues, alternatives, and justify recommendations.
• Facilitate meetings and knowledge sharing to gain consensus.
