Job summary

VaVa Virtual Assistants is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping cycle for assigned clients on a remote, 1099 basis. You will set up client accounts, perform reconciliation, and produce financial statements with strict data security and confidentiality.

The role requires independent work, strong GAAP understanding, and consistent communication with clients. You will collaborate with a contractor community, participate in regular calls, and align with VaVa’s mission,

Qualifications

• Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience with direct client accounts.
• At least 2 years of experience working full-time in a virtual/remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain client accounts in preferred financial software.
• Run full bookkeeping cycle including entry, categorization, and reconciliation.
• Reconcile bank statements and lifecycle accounts monthly with timelines.
• Manage month-end close and deliver financial statements and reports.
• Process AP/AR, issue invoices, and follow up on payments.
• Record and categorize expenses, flag variances, and ensure GAAP compliance.
