Our client, a leading recruitment consultancy dedicated to the life sciences sector, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Biotechnology Recruiter to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role focuses on sourcing and attracting top scientific and technical talent for biotechnology companies, research institutions, and pharmaceutical firms across South Africa and globally. You will be instrumental in identifying candidates for roles ranging from molecular biologists and geneticists to bioprocess engineers and regulatory affairs specialists. As a remote-first professional, you'll leverage cutting-edge digital tools to build talent pipelines and manage the full recruitment cycle effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, screen, and interview candidates for specialized roles in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences.
• Develop and execute proactive recruitment strategies to attract highly sought-after scientific talent.
• Build and nurture a strong, diverse pipeline of passive and active candidates.
• Collaborate closely with hiring managers and clients to understand intricate technical requirements and project goals.
• Manage the complete recruitment process, from initial engagement to offer negotiation and onboarding.
• Stay current with scientific advancements, industry trends, and talent market dynamics in the biotechnology sector.
• Utilize advanced sourcing techniques, scientific databases, and professional networks.
• Ensure a positive and efficient candidate experience throughout the hiring journey.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the ATS.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a recruiter, with a strong specialization in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or broader life sciences industries.
• Demonstrated success in sourcing and hiring for complex scientific and technical roles (e.g., PhD researchers, lab technicians, clinical research associates).
• In-depth understanding of scientific terminology, research methodologies, and industry trends.
• Excellent sourcing skills using various platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter, scientific job boards, and academic networks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain productivity in a remote setting.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment technology.
• A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, etc.) or Human Resources is highly desirable.
