• Current AHIMA CCS credential required.
• Minimum three years of professional medical coding experience.
• Behavioral health coding experience preferred.
• Experience coding inpatient and outpatient encounters.
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M guidelines.
• Ability to review documentation independently and code with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M codes.
• Code inpatient and outpatient behavioral health encounters per guidelines.
• Ensure documentation supports all codes.
• Identify documentation gaps requiring clarification.
• Research coding questions using official resources and payer guidance.
• Maintain coding accuracy while meeting productivity expectations.
