LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a bilingual Bassa-English telephone interpreter to work from home in the United States. This independent contractor role requires interpreting calls on demand across healthcare, government, finance, and more, delivering accurate and culturally sensitive communication.

The position emphasizes rapid, clear interpretation, neutrality, and professional conduct, with training and ongoing support from senior staff.

Qualificações

• Fluency in Bassa and English with cultural awareness.
• Strong cultural competency and ability to assess regional accents.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation.
• Maintain neutral attitude and objectivity on all calls.
• Education or work background in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to interpretation sessions promptly in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render accurate meanings according to interpretation conventions; avoid omissions/additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and phrasing.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm in emergency or high-volume calls; stay on calls as needed.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations and protect LEP confidentiality.
