Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions LLC is hiring a Bahnar-English Phone Interpreter to work from home in the United States. The role is an independent contractor delivering real-time interpretation across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, and general business.

You will be supported by senior staff and desks, receive training, and have advancement opportunities in a fully remote setting with a quiet, secure home office.

Qualifications

• Bahnar and English fluency with cultural awareness.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences for effective communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking to ensure accuracy in interpretation.
• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• No visa sponsorship required for employment with LanguageLine Solutions.
• Education/work experience in language-related fields is preferred.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages is highly preferred.
• Location may require post-offer background check and/or drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergencies such as 911.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations while avoiding LEP interaction without permission.
• Understand protocols for Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law industries.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle emotionally challenging calls and occasional long sessions as required.
