Job summary

Thrivent Financial is seeking a Collector to support collection activities for unsecured and secured consumer loans, mortgage, and deposit accounts. You will work with borrowers to resolve delinquency, document activity, and coordinate with internal teams to manage losses in line with credit risk policies.

The role requires 1-3 years in banking/collections, strong communication, and attention to detail. Remote or hybrid work options are available, with a pay range reflecting geographic regions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of banking, collections, lending, call center, or customer service experience preferred.
• General knowledge of banking and lending processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with borrowers, internal partners, and external service providers.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to accurately document account activity.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned delinquent accounts in accordance with established collection procedures and policies.
• Maintain call quality standards through professional, respectful communication with borrowers to support resolution of delinquency.
• Pursue recovery of charged-off loans and deposit accounts according to goals and procedures.
• Evaluate borrower circumstances and recommend appropriate collection actions or alternative repayment solutions.
• Document all collection activity, borrower communications, payment arrangements, and account status updates accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with internal partners and vendors to support collection activity, repossession, and recovery efforts.
