Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies, a technology consulting and software development company, seeks a Senior Backend Solutions Architect to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed backends powering mission-critical workloads. You will architect core platforms, focusing on scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices.

The ideal candidate combines strong CS fundamentals with practical, hands-on distributed systems experience and leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Six or more years of backend engineering experience focusing on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems using Java, Go, Scala, or similar high-performance languages.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies for workloads.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability and idempotency.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost using profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews and trade-off analyses.
• Implement robust failure-handling with retries, timeouts, and circuit breakers.
• Design and operate data stores at scale including relational, NoSQL, and search engines.
• Build observability with logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Drive incident response and post-incident learning for critical services.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and promote code quality and operational rigor.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to improve reliability.
• Contribute to long-term architecture and roadmaps.
• Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation for onboarding.
