Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design, build, and operate foundational backend platforms and shared services for high-throughput applications. The role emphasizes distributed systems design, backend engineering, and enabling internal developers across multiple teams.

You will lead platform initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions to ensure low latency and scalable systems while working in a 100% remote US-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating internal platforms or shared services used by multiple teams.
• Design distributed systems with strong consistency, availability, latency, and failure handling.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Pulsar, or NATS for streaming and messaging.
• Mentor engineers and lead multi-quarter platform initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational platforms and shared services used by multiple engineering teams.
• Develop backend platform capabilities such as request routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching, and durable event processing.
• Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Document designs and present trade-offs clearly.
