Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed backend services. The role focuses on scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices across core platforms.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in backend engineering, strong programming skills in Java/Go/Scala, and hands-on experience with Kafka and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput message systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost; perform profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical design discussions.
• Implement robust failure-handling patterns and circuit breakers.
• Design and operate data stores at scale including relational and NoSQL.
• Build observability with logs, metrics, and tracing.
• Drive incident response and post-incident learning.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and lead by example in code quality.
