Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Backend Engineer for the Source Code Experience team. You’ll build secure, well-tested backend services using Ruby and GraphQL, shaping reliable source code workflows across company projects.

You’ll collaborate with product and security teams to deliver scalable, trusted systems and help integrate AI-assisted coding workflows. You’ll join one of the company’s oldest product areas, contribute to performance, observability, and resiliency, and

Qualifications

• Experience building backend web applications or APIs using Ruby and GraphQL.
• Understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and caching.
• Experience writing backend tests and participating in code reviews.
• Clear written and spoken English in a remote, asynchronous environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, well-tested backend features using Ruby and GraphQL.
• Design and maintain backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and domain experts to improve outcomes.
• Review AI-generated code outputs and ensure reliability and quality.
• Maintain observability, performance, and resiliency of systems.
• Participate in on-call duties and root-cause analyses.
