Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our growing team. You will build API interfaces and backend infrastructure, collaborating with UI, connectivity and DevOps to craft elegant solutions to complex problems.

You will own significant Rails projects, write clean, tested code, and contribute across the development lifecycle, participating in architectural reviews and technology evaluations to continuously improve the system.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• 7+ years of experience developing, shipping and maintaining Rails applications.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and social skills.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design.
• Experience with relational database systems (PostgreSQL) and Redis-based / Memcached caching.

Responsibilities

• Build complex Ruby on Rails applications.
• Build server-side infrastructure for the company user interface.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to the existing system.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
