Ports North is seeking a proven Backend Developer to join our client on an initial 12-month contract to develop scalable, high-performance backend services.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, and be comfortable working remotely from a CET window (2pm-10pm CET) to align with US-based teams. This role emphasizes design, development, and maintenance of backend APIs and databases.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications with Node.js.
• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing and working with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimise database solutions using PostgreSQL.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues.
