Job summary

Alpha Video is seeking an AV Field Engineer to adjust, test, configure and commission large AV and IT systems. You will work with the Field Manager, Engineers, Installers and Project Managers to drive installations, document red-lined drawings, and potentially supervise projects.

The role requires deep knowledge of audio/video systems, IP networking, and control technologies, with travel up to 70% and ability to work evenings/weekends as needed. OSHA 30 and driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of A/V theory and IP networking.
• Ability to read and comprehend CAD drawings, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Hands on experience with audio/video switching, connectivity, routing, terminations and signal flow.
• Strong problem-solving and field-troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with Cisco, Zoom, Teams, Poly video platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend project kickoff meetings and define needs to commission AV systems.
• Identify design and integration concerns and advise on solutions.
• Read floorplans and signal drawings; document details.
• Provide status updates, risk assessments and delay alerts to stakeholders.
• Configure and test DSP programs (Biamp, QSC, BSS) and control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC).
• Verify operation of AV components and perform system commissioning tests.
• Provide end-user training and event support for commissioned systems.
• Troubleshoot service calls and provide Tier 3 support as needed.
