Job summary
Abbott Laboratories, a global healthcare leader, seeks an Automation Technical Specialist for remote work across Eastern or Central US. You will lead on-site automation hardware implementations in large core laboratories, coordinate cross-functional teams, and resolve complex technical issues to ensure successful customer outcomes.
The role requires up to 100% travel, a technical degree, and hands-on automation experience within clinical labs or diagnostics.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering, Automation Tech, Biomedical Equipment Tech, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years in automation systems, lab instrumentation, or complex technical systems.
- Experience solving technical issues in customer-facing environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 100% and access to a major airport.
Responsibilities
- Lead onsite implementation activities for automation hardware in large core labs.
- Coordinate projects with customers, PMs, leadership, field teams, and vendors.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support throughout the lifecycle.
- Deliver training and technical guidance to field personnel during/after implementation.
- Support new product launches and instrument additions at customer sites.
