Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Supervisor, Laboratory Automation Service Engineer to lead a team responsible for maintaining and optimizing laboratory automation. This role focuses on daily operations, team development, and aligning service activities with laboratory needs, with hands-on support about 10% of the time.

Responsibilities include directing installation/calibration/repair of automated systems, coaching staff, ensuring safety and GDP-compliant documentation, and coordinating with integration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Molecular Biology, Electronics, or related field.
• 5+ years of service engineering experience.
• 3+ years of leading or directing people or project teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and allocate daily tasks to service engineers for lab automation systems.
• Oversee day-to-day service team functionality and performance.
• Conduct routine check-ins with team members.
• Ensure coverage and approve/reject time-off requests.
• Supervise staff, train/develop, and manage performance.
• Provide technical guidance on automation technologies and control systems.
