Job summary

SunSource's Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) seeks an Outside Sales Account Manager to grow our business across the Dayton, OH area, strengthening existing relationships and developing new accounts.

You will act as a trusted consultant, identifying the right automation solutions for customers and collaborating with engineering and support teams. This role offers a remote work arrangement with frequent travel to customer sites in the Dayton metro area.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline; relevant experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of technical sales experience in electrical industrial automation or a related field.
• Knowledge of sales principles, strategies, and business development.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to sell products and services in a competitive environment.
• Professional, self-directed, dependable, and highly organized, with strong time management and the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage strategic customer relationships.
• Engage customers regularly to communicate value propositions and technical solutions.
• Drive account growth by identifying new applications, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive account knowledge, including customer business performance and competitive relationships.
• Collaborate with Application Engineers, CSMs, CSRs, and other internal stakeholders to address customer needs.
• Coordinate customer requests and opportunities to ensure timely follow-through and exceptional service.
