Job summary

ProAg, a member of Tokio Marine HCC, is hiring an Associate Underwriter to join the western team. The role focuses on reviewing annual crop insurance policy documents and ensuring adherence to federal and company guidelines while serving agents and customers.

The position requires at least two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Business Administration. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered, with remote work in the USA.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of relevant and progressive professional experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Review policy information for crop insurance coverage, proper rating, and other information.
• Respond to verbal and written inquiries from agents within designated timeframe.
• Verify rates of policies using RMA and ProAg quoting applications.
• Utilize underwriting systems to develop information for new or renewal policies.
• Answer questions from agents, policyholders, or prospects.
• Adhere to underwriting directives, guidelines, and company policies.
• Request additional documentation for processing coverage (applications, reports, endorsements).
• Approve/deny within authority or recommend decisions to higher authority.
• Analyze FCIC-related data and resolve uncleared items.
• Read FCIC documents and revise acreage reports.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines like SCDs, ARDs, PRDs.
