Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in the US.
• Knowledge of information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies.
• Experience as legal counsel in a business environment.
• Strong understanding of corporate law and procedures.
• Ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist General Counsel with corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives in the employee benefits industry.
• Assist with negotiating complex contracts and drafting templates for business arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with privacy laws and HIPAA-related requirements across the organization.
• Coordinate with legal/compliance teams on audits, reporting, and regulatory matters.
• Educate staff on regulatory changes and privacy best practices.
• Respond to HIPAA violations and maintain necessary documentation.
