Job summary

Asset Living seeks an Associate Corporate Counsel specializing in Employment & Labor to support its Human Resources and operations teams. This remote role partners with the General Counsel to address agency charges, demand letters, and litigation across multiple states, ensuring practical and compliant advice.

The ideal candidate has a JD, 3–5 years of employment law experience, and strong analytical and communication skills to explain complex issues to HR and leadership. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
• 3–5 years of employment and labor law experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-site industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage agency charges and respond to inquiries before EEOC, TWC, and other agencies.
• Evaluate and respond to demand letters and pre-suit claims; negotiate settlements.
• Manage employment lawsuits and arbitrations in partnership with outside counsel.
