Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking a Director, Actuarial to lead a skilled team across regional pricing in multiple states and drive strategic pricing decisions. You will mentor actuaries and collaborate with Finance, P&L, and Product Development.

The role reports to the VP, Actuarial and emphasizes careful risk management and regulatory compliance. This position is fully remote for US-based candidates and offers competitive base pay, benefits, unlimited vacation, equity grants, and annual performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or 4 years commensurate experience.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on track to become one.
• 10+ years of actuarial and/or quantitative analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Own actuarial methodologies, model enhancements, and business initiatives.
• Oversee end-to-end actuarial pricing within a portfolio.
• Support strategic direction of the Actuarial function and regulatory compliance.
• Understand financial risks and opportunities; inform pricing strategies and SAE considerations.
• Mentor and develop Actuarial team members with regular feedback.
• Provide actuarial input in cross-functional discussions with Finance, P&L, and Product Development.
• Lead best practices in automation and documentation for the Actuarial group.
• Build relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
