Oscar Health, a fully remote company serving the U.S. market, is seeking a Director of Actuarial to lead regional pricing and regulatory compliance across multiple states.

You will mentor a team of actuaries and collaborate with Finance, P&L, and Product Development to drive strategic decisions. The role reports to the VP of Actuarial and requires a SOA fellowship or progress toward it, plus 10+ years of actuarial experience in health insurance.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or 4 years commensurate experience.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or on the track to become one.
• 10+ years of actuarial and/or quantitative analysis experience.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong understanding of health insurance concepts and nuances.
• Prior experience leading teams of healthcare actuaries.

Aufgaben

• Own decision-making responsibilities related to Actuarial methodologies, model enhancements, and business initiatives including refining Actuarial approaches across the Director's portfolio.
• Oversee the end-to-end actuarial pricing processes within a specific portfolio.
• Promote long-term goals and objectives that guide the strategic direction of the Actuarial function.
• Understand key financial risks and opportunities and apply learnings to pricing strategies and SAE considerations.
• Mentor, coach, and provide team members with regular feedback and development guidance.
• Provide an Actuarial viewpoint in cross-functional discussions to drive business objectives and insights.
• Lead and shape Oscar Actuarial best practices with respect to automation and documentation.
• Develop relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
