Job summary

Rausch Sturm LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to support our Pennsylvania practice. The role requires PA licensure and involves court appearances, drafting pleadings, discovery, and other attorney tasks while managing a personal caseload.

The position may entail work-related travel and a fully remote work arrangement. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of litigation, stay current with state and federal rules, and contribute to risk analysis and strategy development.

Qualifications

• Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.
• Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania is required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
• Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. Also, to write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
• Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.
• Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review of correspondence, and files to determine whether they are appropriate, review of answers, preparation of discovery and dispositive motions, and all aspects of preparing for and conducting trials.
• Attend court hearings when required.
• Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
• An attorney should be familiar with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules.
• Ability to effectively manage his or her own caseload.
