Job summary

Rausch Sturm LLP in Nebraska is seeking an Associate Attorney to handle creditors' rights litigation, sign pleadings, attend court, and manage a caseload in a fully remote environment. Licensed to practice in Nebraska is required; additional Iowa licensing is preferred.

The attorney will analyze risks, draft pleadings, and represent clients in pre-suit and post-judgment matters, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.
• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska; Iowa license preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws; ability to analyze case law.
• Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc.
• Knowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.
• Experience in collection law or significant courtroom experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review correspondence and files to determine appropriateness; prepare discovery and dispositive motions; conduct trials.
• Attend court hearings when required.
• Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
• Be familiar with state and federal consumer laws and monitor changes.
• Ability to effectively manage own caseload.
