Job summary

Rausch Sturm LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney in a fully remote role in the United States. The candidate must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar and preferably licensed in Iowa as well.

The attorney will handle all aspects of litigation, including attending court, signing pleadings, settling cases, and related tasks, with some travel as needed. The role emphasizes managing a caseload in debt collection matters, risk analysis, and adherence to applicable state and federal rules.

Qualifications

• Background in civil litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska; Iowa license preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
• Ability to draft pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations and related documents.
• Knowledge in Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, or FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.
• Experience in collection law or significant courtroom experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review correspondence and files; prepare discovery and dispositive motions; trial preparation.
• Attend court hearings as required.
• Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
• Stay current with state and federal consumer laws and rules.
• Manage own caseload effectively.
