Job summary

SMX seeks an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support our industrial security program across multiple FCLs. The role is remote supporting a Hollywood, MD team with occasional travel, and involves processing clearances, training, inspections, and reports using DISS, NBIS, SIMS, and c-CURE.

The ideal candidate has a TS clearance, a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years in an AFSO-like role, and strong communication and organizational skills to operate in a fast-paced environment and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years' experience as an AFSO or similar role.
• CDSE possessing curriculum completed or able to complete within six months.
• Fluent with DISS, NISS, NBIS, SWFT, SIMS, and c-CURE programs/systems.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as AFSO for multiple Facility Clearances in compliance with NISPOM and client requirements.
• Interact with DCSA and client security, maintaining relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and implement SOPs and security policies for compliance.
• Process security clearances using DISS/NBIS systems and manage records in SIMS.
• Coordinate in-house training for industrial security programs and trainings.
• Support Insider Threat Program development and annual self-inspections.
• Participate in DCSA and client inspections/assessments.
• Process SCI requests and indoctrination coordination.
• Manage Visit Authorizations using DISS and ACCS.
• Assist with DD254s and security file maintenance.
• Submit and manage CAC applications and issuances.
• Assist with security incident investigations and reporting to DCSA.
• Prepare system access forms (DD2875) and fulfill ServiceNow tickets.
• Generate weekly/monthly reports for management and clients.
