Job summary

SMX is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support a robust industrial security program across multiple client requirements. This role will manage facility clearances, training, and reporting, while maintaining compliance with NISPOM and client-specific standards.

The role requires a TS clearance, CDSE coursework, and hands-on experience with DISS/NISS/NBIS/SIMS/c-CURE systems. Remote work is supported with occasional travel to support a Hollywood, MD based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years' experience as an AFSO or similar role.
• CDSE Possessing Curriculum completed or able to complete within six months.
• Fluent with DISS, NISS, NBIS, SWFT, SIMS, and c-CURE programs/systems.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as AFSO for multiple Facility Clearances (FCLs) within the SMX security program in compliance with NISPOM and client requirements.
• Interact with DCSA and client security; maintain positive working relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and implement SOPs and policies for compliance.
• Process personnel security clearances and records using DISS and NBIS systems.
• Assist with in-house training and briefings for the security program.
