Job summary

SMX is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support multiple Facility Clearances and maintain a compliant security program. Remote position with occasional travel to a Hollywood, MD based team.

The role involves interaction with DCSA, processing clearances, managing CACs, and supporting training, inspections, and incident investigations. Requires Top Secret clearance, applicable CDSE training, and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years' experience as an AFSO or similar role.
• CDSE Possessing Curriculum (completion within six months).
• Fluent with DISS, NISS, NBIS, SWFT, SIMS, and c-CURE programs/systems.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as AFSO for multiple Facility Clearances (FCLs) within the SMX security program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM and client requirements.
• Interact with DCSA and client security; maintain positive working relationships.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures and practices to ensure compliance.
• Process personnel security clearances using DISS and NBIS; manage records in SIMS.
• Develop and conduct in-house training and briefings for industrial security program.
• Assist with SMX Insider Threat Program and annual security self-inspections.
• Participate in DCSA and client inspections/assessments.
• Process SCI requests using ACCS and coordinate indoctrination.
• Process Visit Authorizations using DISS and ACCS as needed.
• Prepare DD254s and maintain program security files.
• Submit CAC applications and manage CAC issuances/renewals.
• Investigate security incidents/violations and report to DCSA via DISS.
• Prepare system access forms (DD2875) and respond to tickets in ServiceNow.
• Assist with reports to Government agencies and maintain records.
