Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to implement security measures under FSO guidance for classified and unclassified contracts. You will handle classification, training, and records management in accordance with NISPOM and related federal requirements.

Responsibilities include managing DD-254 reviews, site visitor controls, badge operations, and annual/initial security briefings.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in a government-secured environment as an AFSO
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required or in process

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary security contact for employee/site issues and for DCSA
• Manage classification, storage, and destruction of classified materials
• Review DD-254s and ensure facility compliance
• Provide mandatory security training to cleared employees
• Administer site visitor program and SSA/foreign visitors
• Maintain security documents and update NISS/KMP lists
