Job summary

CFS Staffing is seeking an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller in the Washington, DC area. The role combines hands-on accounting work with leadership and exposure to senior leadership in a remote-friendly environment.

Responsibilities include managing AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations and supporting month-end close, with opportunities to expand into financial reporting, budgeting and multi-entity consolidation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller background.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Hands-on GL, month-end close, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Financial statement preparation/reporting.
• AP and AR accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel.
• QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting for assigned entities, including AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarterly and year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting.
• Support multi-entity accounting, intercompany activity and consolidations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Partner directly with the CFO on financial analysis and special projects.
• Progressively take on broader close and financial reporting ownership.
