Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a highly experienced Assistant Controller for a fully remote role based in the Eastern/Central time zones. You will lead the month, quarter, and year-end close for a multinational Americas-region, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely financial reporting.

You will manage a team of accounting professionals, drive improvements in contollership processes, and partner with senior finance leadership on strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• 5+ years in close process for a publicly traded manufacturer.
• 10+ years in financial reporting in a multi-entity environment.
• 10+ years in consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• 5+ years leading a team of 6+ accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities.
• Ensure U.S. GAAP-compliant financial reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead and develop a 6+ member accounting team with coaching and performance feedback.
• Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and records maintenance.
• Oversee consolidated reporting and intercompany accounting for a large public company.
• Support SOX compliance and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
• Coordinate external audits and communication with auditors.
• Partner with senior finance leadership to provide actionable insights.
