Job summary

Aston Carter seeks an Assistant Controller to lead accounting for a multi-entity, multinational organization in the Americas. You will oversee financial reporting, the monthly/quarterly/annual close, and controllership activities, partnering with senior finance leadership to ensure GAAP-compliant reporting and timely results in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years overseeing the close process in a publicly traded manufacturing company.
• 10+ years of financial reporting experience in a multi-entity environment.
• 10+ years of consolidations and intercompany accounting experience.
• 5+ years of experience working under a 23 day month-end close timeline.
• Experience supervising and developing a team of 6+ accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities.
• Ensure accurate, timely GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals (6+).
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and records maintenance.
• Review consolidated reporting and intercompany accounting for a large multi-entity org.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and recommendations on complex matters.
• Partner with senior finance leadership for strategic decision support.
• Support and enhance SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Coordinate external audits and communication with auditors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions for analysis (pivot, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Operate ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, SAGE, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday) to support operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a public-company environment.
