Job summary

ActivTrak is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee accounting operations, month-end close, and revenue recognition for a high-growth SaaS company. You will manage two direct reports, coordinate with the Controller, and drive timely financial reporting across the organization.

The role emphasizes ASC 606, NetSuite systems, and automation initiatives to accelerate close and improve accuracy. Preference for remote candidates within the US, with Austin, TX as a preferred location.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting.
5 years of accounting experience with 2 years as Assistant Controller.
Experience mentoring and training in a team environment.
Advance knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and SaaS accounting.
Hands-on NetSuite experience and accounting automation proficiency.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and ability to manage complex datasets.
Experience applying AI or automation tools to improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounting operations including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
Process bi-weekly payroll with accurate payroll transactions.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
Lead account analyses and variance investigations.
Leverage AI/automation to streamline reconciliations, entries, and reporting.
Coordinate with RevOps on billing and integration tasks affecting revenue.
Assist external auditors with schedules and documentation.
Support tax compliance and related reporting.
