Merit Holdings seeks a high-performing Assistant Controller to join our headquarters accounting team, reporting directly to the Global Controller. This remote role leads month-end close for a portfolio of subsidiaries, mentors staff, supports acquisitions and integration, and partners with portfolio leadership.

Qualifications

• Active CPA is required and greater than 4 years of accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience is required.
• Experience in multi-entity or consolidation environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process for an assigned portfolio of subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules prepared by staff and senior accountants.
• Support acquisitions and integration activities and assist with purchase accounting and opening balances.
• Develop staff and senior accountants; elevate accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist with annual consolidated audit and coordinate with external auditors.
