The ideal candidate has CPA credentials, Big 4 or large regional experience, and a proven ability to translate complex accounting for non-accounting stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Research and document technical accounting positions (ASC 606, 805, 842, etc.).
• Support consolidations across multiple entities.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors.
• Assist with due diligence and purchase accounting related to acquisitions.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls enhancements.
• Mentor and develop junior accounting staff.

Our client, a well-established and growing organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their corporate team. This is an exciting opportunity within a high-performing accounting function that plays a critical role in financial reporting, technical accounting, and process improvement.

About the Opportunity

This role sits within the corporate company structure of a multi-entity organization. The Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Controller on monthly close, technical accounting research, consolidations, and audit management, while also helping to build and refine processes as the organization scales.

What You\'ll Do

• Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Research and document technical accounting positions (ASC 606, 805, 842, and other complex areas as they arise)
• Support consolidations across multiple entities
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Assist with due diligence and purchase accounting related to acquisitions
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls enhancements
• Mentor and develop junior accounting staff

What We\'re Looking For

• CPA required
• Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm background (audit or technical accounting)
• Transition into private industry with a mid-size to large organization, preferred but will consider "straight public" candidates at the Sr. Manager or Director level
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations and complex technical accounting matters
• Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally and translate technical accounting into plain language for non-accounting stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
