Job summary

ActivTrak is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee accounting operations for a fast-growing SaaS company in the United States. The role will manage month-end close, revenue recognition under ASC 606, audit coordination, tax compliance, and systems integration, with two direct reports and reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities include supervising journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, A/P and A/R, implementing internal controls, and exploring AI-enabled tools to streamline close

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• 5 years of accounting experience with 2 years in an Assistant Controller role.
• Experience mentoring and training in a team environment.
• Expertise in month-end close, ASC 606, and SaaS accounting.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience and automation proficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manage complex datasets.
• Experience applying AI or automation tools to improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and manage AP/AR and cash management.
• Lead month-end close procedures and period-end adjustments.
• Own ASC 606 revenue recognition and related schedules.
• Coordinate external audits and tax compliance.
