Job summary

Prometric is seeking an Assessment Development Manager to lead a team of Assessment Development Specialists in designing and maintaining certification, licensure, and K-12 assessments.

You will collaborate with psychometricians and clients, oversee item development, form assembly, and test maintenance, and ensure quality and compliance across programs. Remote work with occasional travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, measurement, psychology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience in assessment development, certification/licensure, educational measurement, K-12 assessment, or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience.
• Knowledge of assessment development practices, psychometric principles, and industry standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor team members, supporting professional growth and development.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
• Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor work across team members to ensure timely delivery of assessment development services.
• Monitor team workload and capacity, balancing resources to meet project and client needs.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team environment.
• Support employee development, knowledge sharing, and succession planning efforts.
• Promote consistent application of assessment development standards, processes, and best practices across the team.
• Provide oversight of assessment development activities, including blueprint development, item development and review, item banking, form assembly, test maintenance, and related processes.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned clients and programs, providing consultation and support throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure assessments align with specifications, psychometric requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.
• Establish and monitor quality control measures to promote accuracy and fairness of assessment content.
• Collaborate with psychometrics, publishing, PMO, account management, and other stakeholders to support delivery.
• Facilitate workshops and related activities, including item writing and review meetings.
• Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and updates to leadership.
