Position Summary

Are you an assessment professional who loves the science of test design and the art of workshop facilitation? We are seeking a Certification Assessment Specialist to manage the full end-to-end exam lifecycle for our industry-leading professional credentials.

In this role, you are the process expert. You do not need to be an expert in our specific technical trade; instead, you will lead rooms of passionate, volunteer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate their technical knowledge into valid, reliable, and psychometrically sound exams.

What makes this role unique?

You will have full ownership over our certification item pools and the unique opportunity to help shape and launch brand-new certification offerings from scratch.

Core Responsibilities
  • Drive End-to-End Exam Lifecycles: Manage the design, implementation, delivery, and ongoing health of high-stakes professional certification exams.
  • Facilitate SME Workshops: Lead and facilitate volunteer committees through Job Task Analyses (JTAs), Minimally Qualified Candidate (MQC) definitions, item writing, and standard-setting sessions.
  • Maintain Content Rigor: Manage item banks and test specifications to ensure all questions are clear, legally defensible, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Analyze Exam Performance: Conduct routine item analysis, monitor statistical performance, and oversee quality control to identify and correct security or psychometric anomalies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with our Qualification and Certification Exam Bank (QCEB) Committee and testing vendors to maintain program integrity.
What You Bring to the Table
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associates Degree or higher.
  • Experience: 3 + years of direct experience in professional certification, high-stakes assessment development, or psychometric test design.
  • Technical Knowledge: A foundational grasp of item writing, test validation, JTA processes, and basic psychometric principles.
  • The "Room Commander" Mentality: Exceptional verbal communication skills with a proven comfort level leading workshops, managing strong personalities, and keeping technical experts on track.
Preferred Assets (A Big Plus)
  • Direct experience facilitating remote or in-person JTA and standard-setting workshops.
  • Familiarity using psychometric tools, statistical data, or test delivery platforms (e.g., Pearson VUE, PSI, Prometric) to evaluate exam validity.
