Job summary

Ring & DuChateau Consulting Engineers is seeking a Processing Archivist to manage historical records, organize materials, and ensure preservation according to standards. You will develop inventories, metadata, and access tools while supporting researchers and internal teams.

The role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and experience with archival practices and digital records management. Hybrid work options may apply; collaboration across departments is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, History, Information Management, Records Management, or a related field.
• Experience in archival processing, document management, or records administration is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to classify, describe, index, and maintain physical and digital records accurately.
• Familiarity with archival standards, metadata practices, records retention procedures, and preservation principles.

Responsibilities

• Process Archival Collections in line with procedures and standards.
• Create and maintain inventories, finding aids, and catalog records.
• Identify materials needing special handling and apply preservation procedures.
• Organize, digitize, and manage digital archival assets.
• Develop accurate metadata, summaries, and reference documentation.
• Verify completeness and labeling of materials and records.
• Assist researchers and stakeholders in locating information.
• Follow confidentiality and information governance policies.
• Update databases and document management systems.
• Identify workflow improvements and digitization opportunities.
• Prepare processing reports and collection statistics.
• Collaborate with records managers, IT staff, librarians, and historians.
