Job summary

Instructure is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our AR team. You will support collections, billing, reconciliation, and project coordination to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes.

You will work with Sales, Finance, Billing, Support, and Operations to resolve issues, monitor credit exposure, and optimize AR workflows. The role emphasizes ownership, communication, and precise execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable, collections, billing, or related finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of aging, disputes, credits, and payment processing.
• Experience with invoicing, cash application, month-end close, and reports.
• Project management skills to coordinate stakeholders and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage AR collections and aging reports, follow up on overdue balances.
• Support AR operations: billing follow-up, cash application, reconciliation, and month-end close.
• Review customer accounts, payment terms, credit holds, balances, and notes to ensure accuracy.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, unapplied payments, and disputes.
• Process AR credits: memos, adjustments, write-offs, rebills, and approvals for audit.
• Coordinate cross-functional AR projects by clarifying ownership and timelines.
• Maintain AR records: customer communications, notes, status, approvals, and documentation.
• Assist AR managers with project work: action items, process docs, deadlines, status updates.
• Suggest process improvements to reduce errors and improve collections.
