Job summary

FreedomCare is seeking an analytical Accounts Receivable II to join our Finance Operations team. This remote role supports AR activities within a healthcare revenue cycle environment, with some billing-related tasks to help ensure accurate payments and balances.

You will review outstanding balances, research discrepancies, and work with internal teams to resolve issues affecting collections and cash flow. Prior AR or healthcare revenue cycle experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business/Mathematics or related analytical field preferred.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, finance, banking, or related analytical role preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Review outstanding Accounts Receivable balances and investigate issues impacting collections and cash flow.
• Research claim, payment, and account discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, unapplied payments, denials, or reconciliation differences.
• Assist with payment posting, cash application, account reconciliations, and follow-up on open balances.
• Review payer activity to identify trends, errors, or root causes delaying payment.
• Support billing-related activities to ensure claims are submitted and processed accurately.
• Collaborate with Billing, authorizations, State Operations, and other internal teams to resolve account issues.
• Escalate recurring issues and propose process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Support reporting, month-end close activities, and other Finance Operations initiatives.
