Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in the US, with preference for CST or EST time zones.

Wage ranges from $18 to $26 per hour. The role requires learning hospital systems, performing basic claims research, and following established workflows to ensure timely resolution of accounts receivable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in related field; recent Medical Billing/Coding grads accepted.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, email and database software.
• Excellent communication and good judgment; detail oriented.
• Able to work independently and in a team; handle high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve outstanding hospital insurance balances.
• Research and route patient accounts through appropriate workflows.
• Follow up on 30–40 patient accounts per day for assigned payors.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain payment of balances.
• Document findings and next steps for resolution; note actions taken.
