Job summary

Avēsis is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts from a remote location in the United States. You will perform outbound collections, analyze discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues, reducing delinquency and improving cash flow.

You will work with Billing, Cash Application and Account Management to ensure timely resolution while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 2–5 years of collections or accounts receivable experience.
• Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing account portfolios.
• Experience using AR systems and working with customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems and databases.
• Remote role requiring reliable internet service with 50 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize a portfolio of delinquent accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution while maintaining positive relationships.
• Perform outbound collections on accounts aged 30, 60, 90, and 120+ days via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Research and resolve short payments, underpayments, unapplied cash, and other discrepancies by analyzing activity and coordinating actions.
• Identify root causes of delinquency (billing, eligibility, enrollment, payment errors, disputes).
• Collaborate with Billing, Cash Application, Account Management and others to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
• Track payment disputes from identification to resolution with proper documentation and follow-up.
• Escalate complex issues to management as appropriate.
