Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to embed security throughout our development lifecycles. The role focuses on application security vulnerability management within a high-scale Clojure ecosystem, while also monitoring cloud infra and supporting audits.

You will interact with management and auditors in a fast-paced environment, shaping security practices and reporting. Ladder supports remote work with stipends for home office needs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering and/or cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on working within the JVM environment and reading functional code.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
• Thrive in dynamic environments and design scalable security frameworks.
• Baseline certifications such as CompTIA Security+; CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure the code by partnering with development teams to manage vulnerabilities.
• Monitor cloud security posture using SIEM/SOAR/CSP tools and respond to threats.
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments on architectures, vendors, and APIs.
• Maintain workspace security including identity access management and device compliance.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and establish secure defaults.
