Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to own the vulnerability management lifecycle within our development lifecycles. You will work with engineering teams in a high-scale Clojure ecosystem, strengthening shift-left security while monitoring cloud security posture and supporting audits.

The role requires strong problem solving, clear writing, and the ability to interact with management and auditors in a fast-paced environment. OPT/H1-B sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering or cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on in the JVM environment and reading functional code.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
• Ability to operate in dynamic environments and design scalable security frameworks.
• Baseline certifications such as Security+; CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure the Code: champion application security vulnerability management with development teams.
• Security Ops: monitor cloud security posture using SIEM, SOAR, CSP, CNAPP.
• Governance & Risk: conduct security reviews and risk assessments for architecture and vendors.
• Protect the Workspace: ensure IAM, device compliance, and productivity tool security.
• Drive Technical Excellence: mentor engineers on secure coding and secure defaults.
