Job summary

Ladder is seeking a SecOps/AppSec Engineer to drive vulnerability management across development lifecycles. This remote role is based in one of 23 states and emphasizes secure coding and risk governance while partnering with backend teams.

You will monitor cloud security posture, respond to incidents, and mentor engineers on secure defaults. Strong Clojure/JVM, cloud, and risk skills are essential to shaping Ladder's security program.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering or cybersecurity.
• Hands-on Clojure and JVM coding experience.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures.
• Ability to read functional code and fix issues with backend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Secure the Code: Champion application security vulnerability management in collaboration with development teams.
• Security Ops: Configure, monitor, and fine-tune cloud security posture using SIEM/SOAR/CNAPP tools.
• Governance & Risk: Conduct security reviews and risk assessments for architecture, vendors, and APIs.
• Maintain and optimize day-to-day workspace security, including IAM and device compliance.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and secure defaults at scale.
