Job summary

TradeWind Services is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to provide applied mechanical engineering for an advanced reactor design project. The role requires designing systems per ASME BPVC and other relevant codes, including high-temperature creep and fatigue considerations.

The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to decompose objectives, develop validated designs, and oversee fabrication and testing activities to ensure safety and reliability of reactor systems.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required or equivalent.
• 8+ years (MS 6+) of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to travel as needed.
• Experience with ASME BPVC design for high temperature creep and fatigue.

Responsibilities

• Document electromechanical device designs to meet requirements and codes.
• Decompose objectives into defined design requirements using systems engineering.
• Use best-practice design methodologies to develop and validate designs.
• Establish testing, inspection, and quality requirements for design features.
• Oversee fabrication, construction, assembly, and procurement per design.
• Ensure design meets technical baseline and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain configuration management of assigned system.
• Coordinate with teams to develop experiments and support installation/testing.
