Job summary

MDW Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Appian Lead Platform Developer to support the Missile Defense Agency in leading the design, development, modernization, and sustainment of enterprise apps on the Appian Low‑Code Platform. The Lead will serve as the technical authority, provide architecture guidance, mentor teams, oversee the full SDLC, and drive Agile ceremonies.

Remote role with occasional travel to support customer meetings, program reviews, or project activities as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing on the Appian platform.
• 5+ years professional software development experience.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience leading technical teams and large enterprise projects.
• Full SDLC experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience integrating Appian with external systems via APIs and databases.
• Active Appian Certified Lead Developer Certification.
• Candidates may work from any U.S. location with reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of Appian apps.
• Serve as technical authority for Appian capabilities and standards.
• Design scalable Appian solutions using records, processes, interfaces, integrations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise systems and cloud platforms.
• Perform code reviews and establish development standards for quality and security.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, planning, reviews and demonstrations.
• Mentor junior/mid developers and provide technical leadership.
• Support DevSecOps, deployment automation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Create technical documentation and deployment procedures.
