Job summary

MDW Associates is seeking an experienced Appian Lead Platform Developer to lead the design, development, modernization, and sustainment of enterprise applications on the Appian Low-Code Platform. This remote role requires hands-on implementation, architecture guidance, and mentoring across the SDLC.

The ideal candidate has deep Appian expertise, strong systems integration experience, and a proven ability to lead Agile teams delivering mission-critical applications. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing solutions on the Appian platform.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience leading technical teams and overseeing enterprise application delivery.
• Experience designing Appian applications in production environments.
• Experience through the full SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, sustainment).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience integrating Appian with external systems (REST, SOAP, APIs, databases).
• Active Appian Certified Lead Developer Certification.
• Candidates may work from any U.S. location with reliable high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Appian applications and workflows.
• Serve as technical authority for Appian platform capabilities and development standards.
• Design scalable Appian solutions using records, process models, interfaces, integrations, and data fabrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise systems, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Mentor junior/mid-level developers and provide technical leadership across teams.
• Support DevSecOps practices and deployment automation.
• Monitor application performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
