Job summary
VetsEZ is seeking an API Platform Engineer (PIVOT) for a 100% remote role in a large federal healthcare modernization program. You will help design and govern APIs, manage AWS and Kubernetes platforms, and implement DevOps/GitOps automation, IAM, and security across multiple teams.
The engineer will define API design standards, maintain OpenAPI contracts, build Kubernetes resources, and ensure reliable environment promotion and observability while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field
- Hands-on API management and API security experience including AWS API Gateway
- Experience with identity/directory tech (AD, LDAP, JWT) and access-control patterns
- Kubernetes-based environments, API gateways, Linux, containers, networking, TLS/SSL
Responsibilities
- Define API design standards, review APIs for consistency and backward compatibility
- Author and govern OpenAPI contracts and validation standards
- Build and support Kubernetes resources (Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets)
- Implement CI/CD and GitOps automation, environment promotion, validation, and analytics
- Instrument and troubleshoot platform environments focusing on logs, metrics, traces, and performance
